The
Art
Department
at St. Catherine of
Siena
is devoted to encouraging open-mindedness in its students
by developing their technical skills as well as their
personal creativity. This
is achieved through exploring artistic styles, art
history, and art criticism.
Not only do lessons focus on the elements of art
and the principles of design but also on a variety of
artistic media and how each are manipulated.
The media and techniques discovered are designed to
increase the artistic vocabulary of the students while
nurturing creativity by opening previously unknown avenues
of expression. The
program’s overall ambition is to supplement the
students’ academic subjects in order to create cultured,
well-rounded, and open-minded young men and women.
