The Music Department of
St. Catherine of Siena provides students with a strong
foundation in both vocal and instrumental music. The
curriculum focuses on basic theory, performance and
history. Students receive a rich background in the
history of music in Louisiana, as well as the history
of various genres and periods in both Western
and World Music. Through this exposure to the different
functions of music, students learn to think
critically, to perceive and appreciate the beauty of
music, and to develop confidence in all academic areas
through fostering creative expression.
