Registration does not guarantee placement in the school if the school is not able to serve the needs of the individual student. There is an Individual Needs Committee (INC) to consider student academic concerns as recommended.
Students are eligible for Pre-Kindergarten Three if they are three years old by AUGUST 31.
Students are eligible for Pre-Kindergarten Four if they are four years old by SEPTEMBER 30.
Pre-K3 = 15 to 20
Pre-K4 = 19 to 23

St. Catherine of Siena typically accepts students according to the following categories:*
* Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee automatic acceptance.
** Being a sibling and/or a parishioner does not guarantee automatic acceptance.
*** The students and parents may be required to have an interview with the administration of the school.
St. Catherine of Siena Parish’s territorial boundaries are Interstate 10 (to the North), West William David Parkway/Farnham Place (to the East), Airline Highway (to the South) and Causeway Boulevard (to the West). Anyone who is registered and living inside of these boundaries is considered a territorial parishioner. Anyone who is registered and living outside of this area is considered an out-of-parish parishioner.
St. Catherine of Siena Parish is responsible for the spiritual and formational needs of its specific territory. The school was primarily established to serve the parishioners in our territorial boundary as a ministry of the parish. Therefore, preference is given to territorial parishioners. When there are more applicants than spaces available the length of time you have become a parishioner may be a factor in acceptance.
To be considered active involves three components: registered, involved, and contributing.
To be considered a registered parishioner, you should turn in a completed parish registration form to the parish office. Registration forms are available online at www.scschurch.com (click on Resources and Online Downloads). Registration forms are also available in the narthex of the Church. When applying for the school, to be considered a registered parishioner, you must be registered for at least one year prior to the school registration deadline unless you live in the territorial boundaries.
To be considered an involved parishioner, you should regularly attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days at St. Catherine of Siena, even if you live outside of the territorial boundaries. You should be involved in the community life at St. Catherine and participate in at least one parish ministry, school ministry, or parish-wide events. To learn about the different parish ministries, visit our parish website www.scschurch.com and click on ministries.
To be considered a contributing parishioner, you should financially support St. Catherine of Siena Church. The minimum donation to be considered a contributing parishioner is $520 a year or $10 a week. While the above amount is the minimum, the ideal is to practice true stewardship of time, talent and treasure.
This minimum donation for acceptance is required because it shows involvment in and support of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Our Catholic school is the largest ministry of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the school is financially supported by the parish.
(Note: Beginning in 2023 - 2024, there will no longer be a distinction in tuition based on contributing or non-contributing status. This was communicated to current parents via email on February 22, 2022.)
Contributions can only be credited to the person who is making the contribution. For example, a grandparent cannot make a contribution on behalf of a grandchild applying for school.
Applications for admission to SCS for the upcoming school year will be accepted beginning on October 1st of the previous calendar year. Turning your application in early does not increase your chances of being accepted. The above criteria determines the order of acceptance, not the date of turning your application.
